Aaron Peschel

Systems Engineer

Aaron is passionate about bringing projects from the planning phases all the way through completion to a well polished end. He specializes in agile coordination between operations and development teams. Previously, he was a Development Operations Engineer at Zendesk and a Systems Engineer at HP. He holds a BE in Computer Science and Engineering from UC Irvine.

Adam Scheidler

Forward Deployed Engineer

As a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.), Adam is dedicated to solving complex problems with real-world solutions. He has 7 years of offshore Oil & Gas experience, in which he has provided engineering and operations support in many of the major O&G regions around the world: Gulf of Mexico, West Africa, Russia, and Trinidad and Tobago. He has been involved in the design and analysis of numerous offshore systems and permanent facilities, applying his analytical and numerical background to achieve project success. Adam graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Ocean Engineering. In his spare time, Adam enjoys spending time with his wife and dog, traveling, and taking it easy.

Andy Bane

CEO

As CEO, Andy oversees the vision and growth of Element Analytics. Previously, he held executive roles at enterprise software companies, from VC-backed startups to private equity-backed growth plays to business units of large-cap publicly traded companies. He served as EVP & Chief Strategy Officer for ABB Enterprise Software; was EVP of Product Mgmt. and CMO at Ventyx, a Vista Equity Partners company, acquired by ABB for over $1 billion; and was SVP of Product Mgmt. and Mktg. at P2 Energy Solutions. Andy earned his BA at University of Colorado, Boulder. He's passionate about helping industrial organizations reach new levels of asset performance by using big data to solve complex problems. He and his wife Lisa, a veterinarian, enjoy being outdoors biking, golfing, skiing, hiking, and camping with their children.

Azizbek Kurbanov

Lead Test Engineer

Azizbek has over a decade of experience in leading software testing and automation. As a first test engineer in fast-paced, agile startups, Azizbek has established testing processes and environments, building and leading Quality Assurance engineering teams. His ultimate goal is always customer and stakeholder satisfaction. When he is not breaking software, Azizbek likes to spend time with his family cooking, taking pictures, or twisting a cube puzzle from his growing collection. 

Brian Thompson

Engineering Manager

Brian is a software engineer building the Element Platform. Prior to joining Element Analytics, Brian was a software engineer at Blend Labs and Quantcast working on big data processing, distributed systems, and analytics projects. He is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University with a BS in Electrical and Computing Engineering. Outside of work, Brian enjoys swimming and camping throughout Northern California.

Care Rivers-Uy

Head of Product Management

Care is passionate about the intersection of technology and business, and the different forms this can take across industries. She has managed online banking channels, developed interactive experiences for auto shows, and delivered integrations for leads management. She holds a BS in Management Engineering from the Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines, and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Care and Sherri, her wife, love exploring both locally and internationally.

Dallas Swift

Forward Deployed Engineer

Dallas is passionate about helping industries get more value from their data. Before joining Element, he spent several years at OSIsoft helping companies use the PI System to answer questions involving time series data. He earned a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware, where his research focused on chemical reactor modeling and optimization. He also has a BS in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University. Outside of work, he loves to explore the outdoors, cook, and spend time with his family.

Daniel Fennelly

Software Engineer

Daniel is a software engineer working on the Element Platform. Prior to joining Element Analytics, he worked on analytics applications at Twitter to provide users insight into the Twitter Ads ecosystem. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Reed College in Portland, Oregon and is passionate about human-data interaction. In his spare time Daniel works on large interactive art and DJs small parties in Oakland with his friends.

Enrique Meneses

Software Engineer

Enrique is a software engineer with the team building the Element Analytics platform. Previously, he started Careflow Solutions where he developed a product for connected and collaborative care planning. He also designed and developed a variety of software solutions for healthcare organizations such as physician and patient facing web applications and backend server software with data integration across a variety clinical systems and work with large databases. Before that, he worked at IBM on a large-scale electronic health record and cluster management software. Enrique holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Outside of work he enjoys time with his family and also doing Bikram yoga.

George Elliott

Software Engineer

George is a California native with an untraditional educational background who has spent years building highly interactive software leveraging the latest web development technologies. He believes that the powerful combination of technology and UX is transforming how industries operate, making them safer and more efficient, with Element Analytics at the forefront. In his free time he enjoys reading, gaming, animation, and craft beers.

Ivan Motyashov

Software Engineer

Ivan is a generalist software engineer with a lifelong unrequited passion for programming languages. In his past life, he developed various software solutions at Forge and debugged tricky NFS and networking issues at Netapp. In his spare time, he plays guitar, enjoys absurdly long D&D campaigns, fanatically inserts Oxford commas, and cautiously explores sailing.

Jie Chou

Director, Forward Deployed Engineers

Jie leads a team of Forward Deployed Engineers that delivers asset data models to industrials. Prior to Element, Jie held client-facing roles at OSIsoft helping industrials drive more business value from their operational data through asset models and analytics. Jie holds a PhD in Bioengineering from Rice University and BS degrees in Electrical Engineering and Bioengineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time hiking outdoors.

Jose Bethancourt

Forward Deployed Engineer

With over two decades of experience in the Information Technology domain, Jose has spent most of his career in the Oil and Gas industry. Prior to Element, he worked for various Fortune 500 companies including Chevron, Shell, Wipro, Dell, and Texaco. Jose holds a BS in Computer Science and an MBA from IE Business School in Spain. He is passionate about increasing business value through the use of technology. Outside of work he enjoys training for marathons, working out, and spending time with his family.

Kanyin Ogunrinde

Forward Deployed Engineer

Kanyin has over 6 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry. With a background in Petroleum Systems Engineering, her career has been focused on harnessing the power of operational data to provide business intelligence. Kanyin is an OSIsoft Accredited PI System Infrastructure Specialist, and has extensive experience with System Integration. She has her BASc. from the University of Regina in Saskatchewan, Canada.  Outside of work she likes to volunteer, travel, and spend time with friends and family.

Karen Dang

Software Engineer

Karen has a BS in Biology from UCSD. Before Element, she was at Opower/Oracle on the Data Services team. In her free time, Karen likes to play video games and drink beer (sometimes at the same time!).

Mary Lin

Software Engineer

Mary is a software engineer working on Element Platform. Before Element Analytics, she was a software engineer at Schlumberger building data processing and analytics products. She holds a Master's Degree in Software Engineering from Tsinghua University. In her free time, she likes hiking, traveling and eating outside with friends.

Mostafa Safdarnejad

Forward Deployed Engineer

Mostafa has over 5 years of experience in oil & gas and energy industries. He specializes in modeling, optimization, and predictive analytics and has developed mathematical and data-driven optimization models to improve the profitability and efficiency of various industrial settings. Mostafa has a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Brigham Young University (BYU), and a MSc and BSc from Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST). Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, outdoor activities, and traveling.

Nick Childers

Engineering Manager

Nick is a software engineer with over two decades of experience and a Masters degree in Computer Science. He is passionate about utilizing new technologies and maintaining a scalable, high performant, and understandable code base. Throughout his career he has become an expert in numerous programming languages and has applied his knowledge to the security, defense, and academic industries. In his limited free time, Nick is an avid gamer and occasionally participates in a guild that he formed while still in high school.

Nina Garcia

Software Engineer

Nina is a software engineer working on the Element Platform. She previously developed web analytics for Addthis/Oracle and sensor simulation environments for NVESD. She enjoys API development and schemas, and holds a BS in Applied Computer Science from George Mason University. In addition to habitual and uncontrollable snacking, she indulges in whispery indie music, dog cuddles, and dark beer.

Paul Tsier

Software Engineer

Paul brings machine learning solutions to new industries and problem sets. Previously, he worked as a software and data engineer at Google and Quantcast, where he implemented and deployed ML algorithms into production against very large data sets. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Waterloo. He enjoys rock climbing, playing guitar, and attending Burning Man. 

Stephen Walsh

EVP of Sales

Stephen leads the World Wide Sales & Alliances Team. Prior to Element, Stephen has had more than two decades of Sales and Alliances Leadership in enterprise software. Most recently, he lead Oracle’s Master Data Management, Application Security & Financial Controls sales teams in North America. Prior to Oracle, Stephen held executive positions including VP Sales and Alliances for LogicalApps (acquired by Oracle), VP and GM at ICG Commerce (acquired by Accenture) and VP Enterprise Customers at Dun & Bradstreet. Stephen received a BA in Economics from San Diego State University.  On the weekends you can find him fly fishing and camping.

Steve Griffen

Global Solutions Advisor

Steve is responsible for engaging with field sales of Element Analytics technology.  Steve has spent his career in sales, marketing, and sales management supporting large industrial companies selling complex technology solutions.  He has worked with senior management in some of the largest companies around the world.  Steve specializes in assisting companies with the evaluation and business use analysis of technology solutions that will deliver positive financial results. Prior to joining Element Analytics Steve worked for various software and technology companies including Meridium, Epicor, KANA, and IBM.  He started his career at IBM where he worked for many years in sales and management.  Steve is an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking, camping, and fishing with his family.

Steven is a Forward Deployed Engineer and a playful crafter of ideas. Keenly interested in business and technology, he is driven toward empowering and helping teams achieve operational excellence. Steven holds a BS and ME in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M and has 15 years control engineering experience with roles in production, research, process safety, and digital solutions

Sean McCormick

VP of Engineering

Sean leads the engineering and technical operations teams at Element Analytics, his first foray into industrial software. Previously, he worked at Quantcast for 8 years, where he held various technical leadership roles and was most recently Director of Engineering. During this time, he was responsible for the Quantcast Measure product, more than 10 PB/day of compute, the company website, several machine learning systems, plus the operations for each of these areas. Before that, he was the Lead Engineer at a startup called SonicLiving and ran the Strategic Projects team at AdBrite, prototyping new products for technical feasibility and market fit. Sean studied Computer Science at San Francisco State University. When he's not at work, he likes to spend his time riding his bicycle around Oakland with his daughter.

Steve Beamer

VP Customer Success and Transformation

Steve leads our customer success and transformation organization. Prior to joining Element, he worked in site and executive leadership roles at large oil and gas and mining companies for 30+ years including ExxonMobil, Hess, Peabody Energy and BP. He began his career in the Nuclear Navy and since moving to industry has worked in Engineering, Maintenance/Reliability and Operations. He has a solid understanding of operations excellence and the systems which support it. As a former customer who led a digital transformation, he wants to help others do the same. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University and an MBA from Pepperdine University. Steve lives in Houston with his wife, Sally, and two teenage boys. He enjoys reading, biking, hiking, food, travel, and technology.

Taylor Turner

Systems Engineer

Taylor is a proven Site Reliability Engineer with 8 years of total experience working in the DevOps space. He truly loves his work, the old saying, "If you find a job you love, you'll never work again..." has become his reality; it's something he attributes to playing on his Grandpa's computer growing up. Throughout his career, he's been fortunate to have had some brilliant and patient mentors, at the previous company he worked directly under the former CTO of Github (before it was sold to Microsoft). Taylor is driven by the challenge of solving complex problems and loves learning new things. On most weekends you can find Taylor and his girlfriend at any of the local golf courses, both sharing in the highs and lows of learning the game. He has a 5-year-old son who started Kindergarten in Taylor's hometown of Sebastopol, CA. His son is active in baseball and soccer, and he already has a small collection of motorcycles and gocarts.

Wei Chen

Software Engineer

Wei Chen is a software engineer on the Assets team. Previously, he worked as a backend engineer at a SaaS startup, Iterable, and interned at Microsoft as a data scientist. He has experience in a variety of tech areas, such as DevOps, Backend, Infra, and Data. He holds an MS of Computer Science degree from the University of Minnesota and a BS from Peking University. He practices Kpop dance in his spare time, and has a solid understanding of economics and finance.

David Mount

Founder, Element; Partner, KPCB's Green Growth Fund

David Mount is a partner in G2VP, which supports young companies leading new markets in sustainable ways. A seasoned investor at the forefront of the Internet of Things, energy and industrials markets, David Mount has spent his career advancing the ‘Industrial Awakening’ by supporting companies at the intersection of connectivity, advanced processing and traditional industry. Over the last decade, David was a Partner at Kleiner Perkins’ $1B Green Growth Fund, where he invested in OSIsoft (shares sold to SoftBank), ServiceMax (acquired by GE), Opower (acquired by Oracle), SilverSpring Networks (SSNI), UpWind Solutions (acquired by Vestas) and Choose Energy (acquired by Red Ventures). Prior to Kleiner Perkins, David developed his principal investing expertise at Bain Capital Credit, a $20B structured finance unit of Bain Capital. There, David helped manage a traditional energy portfolio, which included exploration, production, refining, field services and specialty chemicals. His involvement in the firm’s consumer portfolio included investments in multinationals within the food, health and sustainable business sectors. David holds a B.A. from Yale University, an M.S. in environment and resources and an M.B.A. from Stanford University, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar. Veery Maxwell

Partner, Ajax Strategies, LLC

Veery Maxwell is a partner at Ajax Investment Strategies and a director at Energy Innovation. She focuses on regulatory, financial, and legal due diligence on technology companies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions at scale. Veery is a member of the California Bar, having earned a J.D. degree with honors from UC Hastings School of the Law. Veery received a B.A. degree magna cum laude from Georgetown University with a double major in finance and international business. Previously, Veery worked for The Nature Conservancy, ClimateWorks Foundation, and the environmental law division of Union Pacific. She serves on the boards of several companies and nonprofits, including Element Analytics, Ketos, Streetlight Data, Sunfolding, Voltus, WaterSmart Software, and CREO.

Eli Collins

VP, Product Google Research

Eli serves as VP Product Management at Google Research. Previously he was Cloudera's Chief Technologist, focused on new technology and strategy, and Engineering VP, responsible for Cloudera’s data platform (CDH). Eli holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Computer Science from New York University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, respectively.

Eamonn Keough

Professor of Computer Science & Engineering, UC Riverside

Eamonn studies topics related to time-series problems. His work has made important contributions to computer science; he first proposed a method for “lower bounding” the distance between time series, an idea used by more than 150 research groups worldwide that is at the heart of most current algorithms. He developed the “SAX” (Symbolic Aggregate approXimation) time-series representation, used to analyze various data, including telemedicine time series, biometric data, motion capture data, robotic sensor data, spatiotemporal data, music performances, magnetic resonance imaging data, environmental acoustic data, financial data, gene data and network traffic data. One of the most cited researchers in his field, Keogh has published more than 110 research papers. 

Vaibhav Nivargi

Founder & CTO Moveworks

Vaibhav is a serial entrepreneur with 16+ years of experience building products and companies in the big data, analytics and machine learning space. He’s currently Founder and CTO at Moveworks, a cloud-based AI platform resolving employee’s IT support issues. Previously, he founded ClearStory Data, which enabled F500 enterprise customers to interactively blend their private and public data, and uncover insights without requiring any programming or data modeling expertise. Prior to ClearStory, Vaibhav was one of the early engineers at Aster Data (a pioneering big data company acquired by Teradata in 2011) where he developed key areas of the Aster MapReduce platform. Before Aster, his experience includes optimizing the Linux kernel for multi-core processors and building distributed file systems. Vaibhav has a Masters degree in Computer Science from Stanford University.

Jan van Dokkum

Operating Partner, KPCB

Jan van Dokkum assists KPCB’s greentech ventures toward commercialization. Jan has 30 years of experience in building organizations to achieve rapid growth through effective go-to-market strategies, strategic partnerships, cost-effective manufacturing and supply chain implementation, and human resource deployment. Earlier in his career, he served as president of UTC Power and as president and chief executive officer of Siemens Power Transmission & Distribution, Inc. Jan is a member of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technical Advisory Committee. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering.

John Redgrave

Co-Founder/CEO Sentropy Technologies

John Redgrave is currently Co-Founder and CEO at Sentropy Technologies which provides ML-powered tools to protect digital communities from hate and harassment. John has over 20 years of experience in enterprise technology, start-ups and management consulting. He was previously COO of Lattice Data (acquired by AAPL), a machine learning startup focused on rapid knowledge base construction to fuel the next generation of AI applications. During his time at Lattice, John led the acquisition process, investor relations, business development, and operations. Prior to Lattice, he served as Head of Strategy and Operations at Palantir Technologies where he helped the company grow from a 200-person company valued in the millions to a 2000-person company valued at $20B. During his time at Palantir, he built the company's healthcare vertical, led multiple commercial customer engagements, ran worldwide operations, and built the strategy capability for the company to identify greenfield opportunities and solve scaling challenges for Palantir and its customers. John obtained his MBA from Stanford's Graduate School of Business and his AB in Economics with honors from Brown University.

Sameer Kalwani

Founder, Element

A passion for analytics in basic infrastructure inspired Sameer to found Element, where he oversees product strategy, product design, and product marketing. Element's flagship product, AssetHub™, is a data hub purpose-built to handle the nuances of industrial data - including real-time sensor data, static information such as limits, and physical relationships. AssetHub enables you to connect to varied asset-related data sources - including OSIsoft PI Servers - harmonize and contextualize the data, then share the data and asset models with all data consumers. Previously, he was CTO & Head of Product at Sarvajal, an innovative drinking water utility with 1000+ distributed water treatment plants. Sarvajal's patented products reduced Water Utility O&M costs by >60% and consumer water price by 60x. His team's products have been recognized with Frost & Sullivan's Enabling Technology Award and as FastCo’s Top 10 Most Innovative Products. Earlier, Sameer consulted on IT M&A at Deloitte, managed product at Apcera, finance at Goldman Sachs, and manufacturing at Visteon. Sameer holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and BS in Cognitive Psychology from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He and his wife, Ashi, and son, Akash, enjoy traveling and exploring regional cuisines
